Rich Heritage of Georgian Wine
Georgia’s wine-making heritage is as rich and storied as that of anywhere else in the world, with scientists estimating that the people of Georgia were producing wine as far back as 8,000 years ago.

Beautiful vineyards in Georgia showcasing the lush grapevines used for wine production.
Ensconced between the Greater Caucasus mountain range, to the north, and the Lesser Caucasus range, to the south, Georgia is blessed with a temperate climate that lends itself perfectly to producing the most delectable wines.
As such, the production of wine represents a key economic sector for Georgia, but also an important cultural symbol from which the people of Georgia draw great pride. Since the fall of Communism in the region, worldwide markets for the fruits of the country’s famous viticultural industry have expanded apace.

A Georgian wine ready for export.
In 2021, for the first year on record, Georgia exported over 1 million bottles of wine to the USA, reflecting its growing prestige and popularity on the dining tables of Europe and North America. Yet, at the Georgian Wine Boutique we feel that, though the British market has expanded in recent years, the discerning wine-drinker in the UK still lacks sufficient affordable access to Georgia’s wine produce.
